$2 gas anyone?

I heard someone complaining the other day. You know the type of people who just like to complain, but don’t really know what they are complaining about? This was one of them. The guy was rattling on and on about everything that is wrong with the world and one of the things he mentioned was gas prices.

I almost wanted to interrupt him and let him know that gas prices are almost down 50% from where they were just a few months ago – but I didn’t. I think he would have complained that people are always telling him the glass is half full. ;)

Anyway, the fact about the gas prices just dawned on me the other day when I saw gas for $2.27. After paying over $4 for a gallon of gas, it is pretty fun paying $2.27 a gallon. I know we still have a bit of a recession we are dealing with, but I just want to remind people of some of the encouraging things that are going on!

$2 gas

I am not sure if we will break the $2 mark, but if oil prices keep dropping like they have been, I think it is a very real possibility. Has anyone seen $2 gas yet?

This is very good sound advice! I also found a lot of money saving budget tips here http://godsmoney.com/?page_id=58

I haven’t seen it at $2 yet, but I find the psychology funny:

I see the same thing with weather. During the summer we thing 60 is cold….. during the winter we think 60 is “break out the shorts and t-shirt” weather…..

Same thing with gas: When we were used to paying less than $2, paying more than that seemed ridiculous….. but once we were all paying more than $4 a gallon…2 bucks seems like a break !

It’s almost always a perception issue.

We’ve had it hovering right around (and under!) $2 here in Richmond, VA.

We have been holding pretty strong at 2.05 for a few days in Tulsa, OK.

Did you hear about OPEC? They have decided that due to declining oil prices, they are going to start producing less oil…so get ready for prices to increase again. Don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer, but I just think people need to be aware of things like this.

I was just happy that we just broke $3 today. Fun of living in California :)

Well, lucky Californians! I paid about 6,50 $ in Hamburg/Germany today. In August it was around 7,65 $ or 9,50 $ if you’d calculate with the exchange rate of these days…

My sister-in-law goes to college in Springfield, MO. Gas was $1.99 down there last week and hit as low as $1.87 at the beginning of this week. I havne’t talked to her in a few days so I have no idea what it is now.

I’ve been filling my jeep up just for fun lately.

Oh yeah, $1.91 today in the KCMO!

@Bri
thanks for mentioning that – it is a bummer that they are doing that, but I guess time will tell what happens…

Here in Lexington, KY I saw $2.09 this afternoon. Seeing those west of me with prices under $2 means I shouldn’t have to wait too long to see those kinds of prices here.

I’m an independent sale representative, and travel four states as part of my work. This summer, gas prices were really impacting my business. Man, I am really glad to see prices come back to something resembling a sane level.

Gas is $1.80 here on the west side of Indianapolis!!!!

Here in Kansas today it got to 1,99… very sweet!
