Drive slow = Save gas

Does driving slower really save gas? If you have read or heard of any gas saving tips at all, I am sure you heard that you save fuel by driving slower. A couple of weeks ago when we left for our vacation, I decide to test it out, just to see what the results really were. I really didn’t really do much in the way of hypermiling other than occasionally hanging behind a big rig when he matched my speed. I just drove the first 350 miles at 65mph rather than the 75-80mph that would have been more likely on our way to vacation.

I read an interesting article from a local newspaper that said, “… Americans currently spend $2.57 billion more than they should for gasoline and diesel fuel due to gasoline expanding at warmer temperatures.” That is just unbelievable to me. Alright, I can’t guarantee that she will “love” all of them, I mean what kind of guy would I be if I completely understood women? ;) But, I am sure that she will at least love some of them, depending on the type of lady you have. By “date” I am referring to anything you can do alone for a couple hours with your significant other. If you have kids, you might just have to bite the bullet and pay a sitter for a couple of hours, but at least the date itself can be free!
