Okay, so I’ve gotten back into Swagbucks a little. And now I have gotten my wife on board helping me out at home. So I thought I make a better post than my last Swagbucks Post. Plus they have revamped the site with their whole points system.
Here is how the system works. You use their website for searching the internet (instead of Google, yahoo, or Bing) and randomly you collect points (Swagbucks). You collect these points for all manners of stupid stuff on their website. Included in that stuff is a $5 Amazon Gift Card for 450 points. I highly recommend that this is the only thing you get. If you do the math you will see this is the best Value for your points.
You can also supplement your point collection by doing things like taking their daily poll, entering swag codes, visiting the trusted surveys daily, etc.
So is it real and how much Amazon Credit can you realistically expect to get? Yes it’s real and here is what I have gotten:
As you can see in just over a year I have gotten $55 worth of Amazon Credit, and my 12th gift card is verified and should come pretty soon (for $60). It does take about 2 weeks to GET your Amazon gift card once you submit for it. But you can also see where there were months at a time where I didn’t really use swagbucks. I could of done much better, but let’s face it, life happens. (I left that Amazon Gift Card code up there so you can see how they come, but I already used it, so don’t bother trying)
So is Swagbucks a good search engine? Not really. It’s loaded with sponsors, and I just don’t like the layout, so I still use Google for any serious searches I do.
Is Swagbucks also a pyramid scheme? YES. If you are good at pyramid schemes then you will love swagbucks. If you aren’t (like me) please know that you can still use it and get a few extra Amazon Dollars every month. The way the pyramid scheme works is if people sign up under your link, you receive 1 extra swagbuck for every swagbuck they get in a search, up to 1,000 swagbucks. There is also a cap on the number of people, 100. So if you are really really good at pyramid schemes you can make over $1,000 in Amazon gift cards. However this doesn’t seem to work. I’ve haven’t spammed my link out, but I’ve had it posted up here and got my little brother to start on it. I have about 10 people signed up under my name with 0 or very little points, and my bro and one other person have pretty much earned me an extra gift card. Since then my brother has stopped. So I don’t have too high expectations from that aspect of the site.
My recommendation is that if you are on the internet pretty regularly go ahead and sign up, try to search twice a day and collect some points with it. It should be worth $5 a month if you are casual with it. And up to $15 a month if you hit it up daily 2-3 times a day. In my experience, I search back to back until I have points. Then I don’t use it for at least 4-6 hours. So I use it once in the morning till I get a win and once in the afternoon. Generally the wins are worth between 7-20 points, with the occasional 50 points.
I hope that helps anyone on the Fence about Swagbucks.
