Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University Giveaway

I am a Dave Ramsey fan, and love his book – Total Money Makeover – I think it is one of the most helpful financial books I have ever read. Linda and I recently started his Financial Peace University class at a local church and we both have loved it. I knew I would like it, but since I am a bit more of the nerd who gets a kick out of this stuff I wasn’t so sure that she would like it. But Dave does a great job of making a dry subject very entertaining and inspiring.

Just being a few weeks into the class, I can already tell how life-changing it is and can be for those who simply do what he is teaching. In our case Linda and I really are very much on the same page financially, but the class is inspiring her and bringing us into even more unity on this notoriously sticky subject. Needless to say, I highly recommend the course.

Linda has been reviewing it so far…

It is expensive, the list price is $200, and I know not everyone can just drop $200 very easily. So, this month we are giving away the FPU Lifetime Membership as the Free stuff giveaway!

I read and am re-reading The Total Money Makeover and it has opened my eyes to some unwise spending practices and monetary decisions. I have systematically begin paying down/off credit cards and slowly but surely moving towards using cash only and saving for big purchases. I would love to be totally debt-free.

I read your articles all the time. Thanks for the Dave Ramsey give away.

Dave Ramsey is probably the only one (besides God, of course) who can show me how to have financial peace. I receive $500/mo child support and have to support myself and two children on that amount. Thankfully I don’t have housing costs, but I do have about $3,000 in debt that has been an insurmountable amount for me to get rid of because I can barely meet our basic needs. I’m unemployed, but don’t qualify for unemployment benefits. I sure could use some help here (and thanks for letting me vent!)…

I hope that whoever wins this give away will take full advantage of it. Sometime you get out of it what you pay for, I pray in this instance it is more!

My wife and I took this class five months before we were married. 3 years and 2 months later we are dept free save for our mortgage! We saved our emergency fund of $1,000and paid off a total of $45,000 in debt. All while paying cash for over $10,000 worth of medical expenses.

This is a fantastic program, but the best thing was my renewed faith in God. I was living paycheck to paycheck before we started, and when we did start we decided we would tithe 10% no matter what. It was incredible the provisions He made for us.
