(added 2:58pm – Sad to hear it, but it sounds like Staples is out of stock on this offer)

I would have posted this sooner, but I wanted to make sure that it was legit. Apparently Staples and Intuit have teamed up to offer Quickbooks Pro for free on December 22nd only. The original price is $199.99. You then get a $40 instant rebate and a $159.99 mail in rebate. You can purchase from the Stores or online at Staples.com.

If you are a small business owner, this might not be a bad idea to get in on this. I haven’t used Quickbooks myself, and probably wouldn’t have paid $200 for it, but if I can get it free it’s worth a shot – don’t you think?

This is a little from the description of Quickbooks…

QuickBooks Pro Edition makes accounting easy with tools to organize your finances all in one place. Complete tasks like payroll, invoicing, bill tracking and check-writing. Track sales and expenses, and easily share this data Word and Excel. With QuickBooks Pro, you’ll spend less time on routine tasks and more time on business.

I just ordered my copy online and I actually clicked through Ebates since they have 2% cash back for Staples. I am not sure if it will work on this purchase, but I figured it was worth a shot.

This is link for Quickbooks Pro 2009 on Staples website, so you can see for yourself. And this is the link to the Rebate form.

Quickbooks is the standard of the industry for small business accounting. If your chart of accounts doesn’t link with your bank account, you need this version. Otherwise, check out the differences from the version you have and see if it’s worth the investment.
