A financial support book
I read Grace on the Go: Powerful Prayers to Ease Money Worries by Barbara Bartocci. I have been reading a few personal finance books lately that are more along the lines of “how to” books and as the author I will tell you this is not a “how to” book. I was telling a friend about this book and I said it isn’t a financial “how to” book; it’s a financial support book, that by using prayer and reading bible passages you can lean on God’s shoulder for support during difficult times regarding money. Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night with this knot in your stomach worried about finances? I have and I wish I would have had a book like this to turn to during those times. This book is there for you with stories, prayer and bible passages to help you through those times, there are prayers and bible passages for almost every financial situation you could find yourself in. This book helps you to let go of the worry over money and to give it over to God, there are prayers to help you with this.
I did like the book and dog eared many places where I can go back and be inspired by the words and prayers. Some of the prayers I have marked for future reference are a prayer for clear thinking, faith, unfairness, moving on and sharing. Today in the current economic situation the country is facing I would recommend this to mostly Christian individuals and couples having a tough time with their finances. While it is not a “how to” book there are plenty of good ideas and resources for a person to get an idea for further reading. People that are not open to Christian principles might not like the book because the book is based in those principles.
Small and compact
One feature I liked about Grace on the Go is that it is small. It makes it convenient to take the book with you anywhere, small enough to keep in your purse, on the nightstand next to your bed or maybe in your pocket. With only about a hundred pages Grace on the Go is a fast read but it also makes it easy to find the passage or prayer you are looking for if you like to go back to read certain parts. There is also a resource area in the back of the book with books and websites that are available to look into subjects further. This book would not be good for someone looking for in depth details about how to solve their financial problems. She does quote authors of financial books like David Bach and authors like Ramsey, Orman, and Bach are listed in the resource section in the back. The title explains this book in a nutshell; it is powerful prayers to ease money worries, there are plenty of stories, prayers and bible passages to help support you through many different financial situations.

Sounds like a great book.
I’ve found myself feeling the pinch financially in recent months and have been trying to learn new ways of generating a secondary income.
I’ve certainly woken up with that knot in my stomach as well.
Letting go and letting God is a challenge when it comes to the finances… at least it is for me.
Thanks for posting. Just found your blog.
Sounds like a good book and one I would like to own. I’ll have to see about ordering a copy.
Even when we’re on the right track of getting our finances in order, we can find ourselves worrying or stressed over financial situations – or at least I have been guilty of that. The book sounds like a great encouragement tool for times like that.
Thanks for reviewing it!
