I know not all parts of the world can take part in this ever-so-stylish luxury, but let me just say, “you are missing out!”
I just went on a float trip yesterday with a bunch of friends and it just doesn’t get much better than sitting on the river with friends when it is 92 degrees and sunny.
For those of you who have only heard stories of the great summer past time, let me explain.
Basically, you hop in a bus. It drives up river about 10 miles, then you grab a canoe, raft, or kayak and mosey on down the river for the rest of the afternoon. You see a lot of country folk on the river and actually a good chunk of city folk (myself) as well.
Living in St. Louis we have a lot of rivers around, so it makes it pretty popular around here.
What about you? Do you go floating?

I haven’t done it in a few years, but I’ve gone “tubing” before. It works pretty much the same way as “floating” (a term I’d never heard before), but you sit in a tractor tire tube. The place we go to has nylon straps so that you can attach yourself to other tubes and float as a big group down the river. Very fun and relaxing!
@Becky
I just love being on the water. Water + Sun = fun
I have done some tubing while being tied up to a speedboat on a lake – not quite as relaxing (in fact, pretty painful) but still fun
