He cares for the birds

Bird pulling up a worm“God gives every bird its food, but He doesn’t throw it in the nest.”

-J.G. Holland

There is a fine line between waiting on God and trying to make something happen in our own strength.

Unless the LORD builds the house,They labor in vain who build it;Unless the LORD guards the city,The watchman keeps awake in vain. Psalm 127:1

So, we can do some things in our own strength, but it will not be of much value. However, if “the Lord builds the house,” he will build a nice one! It will be much better than what we could produce.

Clearly, we have a part to play. I like this J.G. Holland quote because it is just a friendly reminder that God does provide, but it comes through action on our part.

He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens which cry. Psalm 147:9
