Has yours?  I got mine direct deposited a couple of days ago, we have not done much to stimulate the economy yet. But, my wife has lots of wonderful plans for the money- so it won’t be long.

Turbo Tax user’s may get a paper check

Why Won’t I Get My Economic Stimulus Payment by Direct Deposit?

Just a heads up for Turbo Tax users…  I just heard yesterday that Turbo Tax users who checked the box to have the fee taken out of their refund may be receiving a paper check even if their tax rebate was sent via direct deposit.

Check out the TurboTax support page about the Stimulus payment for more info… This is a little clip of what it says…

Under certain circumstances, however, the IRS has decided that taxpayers can only get their rebates by mail, even if they get their refunds by direct deposit. At TurboTax, this will happen if you use a “refund transfer” when filing your 2007 return. This service lets you pay for your tax preparation and/or e-filing from your refund proceeds, for an additional fee, under an agreement with Santa Barbara Bank & Trust .

Ours arrived just about the same time as yours. We decided to spluge (and do some economy stimulating) and we have proceeded to spend our entire check redoing our laundry room. Of course, it wouldn’t have cost too much to redo the 30 sq ft room, except that all except about $200 of our check went to buying a new washer and dryer. We’re hoping that by buying energy star efficient models, then it might save on other bills, and then having higher capacity models will save on some time doing laundry. Once we get everything delivered and done (painting, new flooring, etc.), I’m going to post before and after pictures on my blog.
