Now is the time to get the Christmas deals

This is one of those money-saving tips that is oh-so-obvious, but it bears repeating. Right now, you can pick up all those Christmas items for a fraction of the cost. I know we need one of those containers that holds all the wrapping paper and related items. Right now our closet shelf is just filled with all that junk! I think we are also going to pick up some stockings.

The last two years we stocked up on ornaments a few days after Christmas and got some great bargains!

Has anyone picked up Christmas goodies for next year yet?

We wanted to upgrade our tree holder, so we picked up one for half off at Wally World after Christmas. But then, we found an even better one (the kind that makes it easy to water the tree) for .50 cents at a close-out store called Dirt Cheap! The original price tag on this holder was $19! ALL of their Christmas items were .50 cents.

Picked up a bunch of stocking stuffers at Restoration Hardware. Their items are really first-class but before Christmas they’re pretty high priced. The after-Christmas half-off sale makes it such a deal, and I just store them for next year.

This year after putting up our artificial tree and using duct tape to keep it together, I decided we needed to purchase a new one after Christmas. I got a $130 tree at Target for $64. I also bought some stockings since ours are falling apart. We get a lot of wear out of our Christmas decor. LOL

I haven’t bought anything yet this year but last year we were able to get a new artificial tree for really cheap at Home Depot. It was the last display model and was marked down to $35. It was one of the really nice pre-lit trees that look just like a real tree (unlike out old tree that you could see right through even after it was decorated). After we took it home we realized that the price tag on the tree said $299! It was well worth the $30.

My wife just told me about a bunch of deals at the local Target that I think we are going to pick up today – if they are still there! ;)
