I’ve been receiving your updates in my inbox for months, and I’ve gotten a lot out of them. Congratulations on the 1,000,000 visitor!

If I won the gift card, there’s only one thing I can think of that I’d get: books. I am a senior at NC State University (at 49!), working on my applications for graduate school. And as everyone knows, books can really eat up a budget! So, with that $100, it’d be a little less that I’d have to pay for the next round of textbooks. :o )

Dan S. August 21, 2009 at 6:48 am

I would get Books. Probably NT Wright’s book on Justification and a commentary or two that I couldn’t get with my normal $25 limit at Amazon.

Ray August 21, 2009 at 6:48 am

Congrats on reaching that big millstone!!

Jenny August 21, 2009 at 6:54 am

I would purchase some of the books on my business book wishlist. I was laid off earlier this year and am using this time of un-and-under-employment to sharpen up my skills.

Matt August 21, 2009 at 6:57 am
FFB August 21, 2009 at 7:00 am

Congrats on the millionth visitor! That’s an awesome stat.

For me, the money would go to baby stuff as we have a 6 week old and you can always use diapers, onsies, wipes, etc…

Criag Strauss August 21, 2009 at 7:05 am

Errin Kunkel August 21, 2009 at 7:10 am

Congrats on your 1millionth visitor! You website has helped me and my family so much! Your ministry is such a blessing!
With the $100 Amazon gift card I would buy some Educational toys for our five month old and a couple books for my husband! Just to bless them and see them smile!
Keep up the great work!

Eve August 21, 2009 at 7:55 am

May God continue to favor you! This is a great accomplishment ..1,000,000 visitors.
With the $100 gift card, I would spend it to get books for teens. I am a teens leader at my church and love it when they can read books that edify their minds. I know my Church can provide this, but this would be special from me to them.

God bless you!

Congratulations on this milestone! I enjoy your site.

If I won a $100 gift card I would either use it for clothing for my boys, or give it to my son in college.

Bjorn August 21, 2009 at 8:03 am

Congratulations on 1,000,000!

If I won, we would probably buy groceries or possibly Home school supplies.

The Millionaire Maker’s Guide to Creating a Cash Machine for Life
1001 Ways to Cut Your Expenses by Jonathan D. Pond
Zero to One Million

MUSIC:
The Watchman ~ Wilbur (Author), Paul
Jerusalem Arise ~ Wilbur, Paul
A Night of Extravagant Worship ~ Wilbur, Paul
Be Pleased ~ Elder Phillip Tarver
More ~ Mary Alessi

It would pay for the gas to get to my parents house this Christmas so that I could spend the Holiday’s with them.

Jason Wier August 21, 2009 at 8:57 am

I would get books to read and then share.

Lori August 21, 2009 at 9:00 am

TheDebtHawk.com August 21, 2009 at 9:03 am

Money Funk August 21, 2009 at 9:03 am

I would use it twoards my kid’s school supplies. My family is on a Credit Card PIF challenge. 4 Cards, $4041 to PIF by 12/10/09. And we are on track. The extra $100 amazon will help with the extra expenditures occured during this challenge. :)

Joe Plemon August 21, 2009 at 9:22 am

Congrats on 1,000,000. It makes me feel good that so many are reading such good stuff!

With the money…undoubtedly books!

flipped4cpf August 21, 2009 at 9:25 am

I have a bunch of Christian books on my wish list I would love to buy!

Alissa August 21, 2009 at 9:42 am

I would put it towards a bigger ipod for my boyfriend. He got a few friends to help him buy me my 2 gb nano back when I couldn’t afford one (we were both music grad students) and now it’s his turn for a surprise! He’s in the middle of qualification exams this week and he deserves a gift for all of his hard work and stress.

Jenn M August 21, 2009 at 9:51 am

I am trying to achieve a “free” Christmas using the internet surveys and swagbucks. This would help me significantly.

Luke August 21, 2009 at 9:58 am

If I had $100 gift card to Amazon, I would probably put it toward some home improvement projects by buying some bathroom fixtures.

Lisa August 21, 2009 at 10:14 am

I would use the amazon gift card towards a security system for the house since someone stole my husband’s speaker/amp out of his car!

Erin August 21, 2009 at 10:28 am

Congratulations!

I would use it to help buy my husband either a new drill, or a new weedeater. The first cheapo drill we bought when we got married 5 years ago bit the dust and he’s pretty handy so its been a struggle not to just go buy one! Our first weedeater was a hand-me-down that quit, the one we bought to replace it was stolen! He just edged our entire sidewalk (we live on a corner, so that’s double) with a shovel! I would love to reward him with a weedeater so he doesn’t have to do it all over again next year…

Nate @ Debt-free Scholar August 21, 2009 at 10:31 am

I’d definitely tackle some of my ever growing amazon wishlist. I love the feel of reading a new hard back book, but rarely indulge in the luxury.

Darren August 21, 2009 at 11:14 am

Congrats Bob! I’m finishing up my education requirements for the CFP designation, so I’d use the card to buy books.

Cristy August 21, 2009 at 11:16 am

A million is a true milestone! Congrats!

If I won the $100 Amazon gift card, I’d buy the few books there that deal with post-abortion ministry, and then find out what my daughter’s preschool needs and use the balance towards that.

adrian August 21, 2009 at 11:22 am

If I won, I would probably buy some more toys for my 2 kids.
Congrats! Nice to see a religious site getting lots of publicity.

Robin August 21, 2009 at 11:24 am

Carrie August 21, 2009 at 11:24 am

i’d buy some more flatware since i’m a little short on spoons and always run out of those before i have a full load to run in the dishwasher.

Britt August 21, 2009 at 11:25 am

I would buy as many books on my 2009 booklist as $100 would buy.

Nicole August 21, 2009 at 11:31 am

I would buy my textbooks for the upcoming semester. Granted it would only pay for two of the eight I need, but it’s better than nothing!

Erica Douglass August 21, 2009 at 11:35 am

I definitely know what I would buy, as it’s sitting in my shopping cart right now! A new, pro-quality USB microphone and pop filter so I can record interviews better. This is a critical part of my business and even I’m tired of hearing my puh-puh-puh-puh-Ps ;)

-Erica

I would buy whatever my 20 month old daughter needs (diapers, clothes, etc.). Congrats on your milestone!

Rich August 21, 2009 at 11:37 am

Thanks for all the great PF advice!

Diann @ The Thrifty Groove August 21, 2009 at 12:59 pm

I would use it for Christmas shopping!

Bible Money Matters August 21, 2009 at 1:25 pm

Congratulations Bob! Feels pretty awesome to reach those big milestones doesn’t it? I just reached 1 million page views and it’s very nice to know someone’s out there reading your posts!

With that $100 I’d probably put it towards that laptop that I’ve been wanting for a while. That’d go a long way towards the purchase..

Great job!

Ray Fowler August 21, 2009 at 1:41 pm

Congrats on 1,000,000 visitors. (I recently passed 500,000 visitors and am set to break 1,000,000 page loads some time this weekend.) What would I buy with a $100 Amazon gift certificate? Books, definitely books!

aeko August 22, 2009 at 6:43 am

a cart on wheels to assist with this, and remainder to save for things that break and need replaced throughout the year.

Judy Lee August 22, 2009 at 6:55 am

Doreen August 22, 2009 at 10:07 am

Thanks for your very encouraging and informative blog!

Jeanelle August 22, 2009 at 11:30 am

Thank you for a wonderful opportunity to win an Amazon gift card. I greatly appreciate your willingness to share your joy!

I would use the $100 Amazon gift card to start Christmas shopping. I realize that Christmas is a bit away, but there are so many things that I can get through Amazon easily, that I like to shop there. In addition my brother and family are overseas, so purchasing and shipping with Amazon truly works great for me and for his family.

We are digging our way out of a lot of debt right now. So every little (and not so little) bit helps!

Not sure at this point how I would spend it. Probably share half with my wife. I might buy some CDs or some books. Maybe I might look over Amazon’s electronic stuff and see if there is something worth buying. Maybe I might save it till Christmas time and buy something for the grandsons.

My eldest son is a voracious reader. We mostly frequent the library to fuel his passion but there are several titles that I would love him to have to start building his own library. Classics mostly that truly bring him joy!

C.J. Lee August 26, 2009 at 7:51 am

Congratulations on 1 million visitors!

My wife and I have used your tips to save and be good stewards.
We save up gift cards and use them as birthday & wedding gifts.
So that is what we will do if we win the $100 Amazon gift card.

Congrats! That’s awesome. I’d buy some clothes and new toys for my kidlet (2 years old), some Kindle books and if anything was left over, a new bird feeder.

Congrats on the million visitors!

If I got the Amazon gift card, I would have to use it to buy textbooks for school this year. The school’s copies are falling apart, and it would be a lot easier to study if I had a new copy.

With school coming up again I have to start buying new books! What with money so tight these days it would be wonderful to have a little extra money for other school supplies.

I would buy school supplies for my fiancee’s students who are not able to. This year they cut the budget and teachers were not even given there teacher’s choice money. Everything for them will be coming out of their pockets.
