Dave Ramsey Town Hall
I attended Dave’s Town Hall meeting last night and thought he did a great job. In his typical fashion, he was funny, encouraging, inspiring, and motivating.
He covered quite a few topics over the course of the two-hour session, but it seemed the primary message he was trying to get out was that freaking out is not necessary. He explained that things aren’t good right now, but not as bad as the media is making it seem. He argued that the current recession is no where near as bad as the great depression, like some are claiming.
A few other noteworthy points he made along the way…
- He suggested not doing business with big banks, but rather small local banks or credit unions.
- He suggested not to buy gold – arguing that since 1835 it has only returned 1.5% and it is currently at a 175 year high.
- He talked about how the recession is going to end as “we the people” make personal changes.
- He challenged the American people to start giving again.
- He closed the night out explaining that the “only true Hope is in the nailed scarred hands of Jesus”
